If you do not belong to the countries eligible for a visa on arrival to Jordan listed above. You must apply for a visa in advance directly with the Jordanian embassy in your country.
Jordan visa types
There are different types of Jordan visa, depending on the purpose and duration of your visit. Types of Jordanian visas include:
- Tourist visa: This is the most common type of visa for travelers who want to visit Jordan for tourism, sightseeing, or leisure. The tourist visa can be obtained on arrival or in advance, and it is valid for 30 days, with a possibility of extension for another 30 days. - Transit visa: This is the type of visa for travelers who want to transit through Jordan for less than 24 hours, without leaving the airport or the border crossing. The transit visa can be obtained on arrival, and it is free of charge. The transit visa does not allow the traveler to enter Jordan or visit any attractions.
- Work visa: This is the type of visa for travelers who want to work in Jordan for a Jordanian employer. The work visa can only be obtained in advance, and it requires a work permit from the Jordanian Ministry of Labor, as well as a sponsorship letter from the employer.
