Zimbabwe Visa Types, Requirements, and Application
If you are planning to visit Zimbabwe, you may need to obtain a visa depending on your nationality and purpose of travel. In this article, we will explain the different types of Zimbabwe visa, the requirements for each visa type, and the application process.
Who needs a visa to enter Zimbabwe?
The three visa categories for Zimbabwe are A, B, and C. Visitors from category A countries do not need a visa to enter Zimbabwe. Visitors from category B countries can obtain a visa on arrival at the port of entry. Visitors from category C countries must apply for a visa in advance before traveling to Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe visa types
There are different types of visas available for Zimbabwe, depending on the duration and purpose of your stay. Types of visas for Zimbabwe are:
- Single entry visa: This visa allows you to enter Zimbabwe once for a maximum stay of 90 days.
- Double entry visa: This visa allows you to enter Zimbabwe twice for a maximum stay of 90 days each time.
- Multiple entry visa: This visa allows you to enter Zimbabwe multiple times for a maximum stay of 90 days each time. It cannot be obtained at the port of entry and must be applied for in advance.
- Transit visa: This visa allows you to transit through Zimbabwe for a maximum stay of 24 hours.
- Business visa: This visa allows you to conduct business activities in Zimbabwe for a maximum stay of 30 days. It cannot be obtained at the port of entry and must be applied for in advance.
- KAZA UniVisa: This visa allows you to visit both Zimbabwe and Zambia for tourism purposes for a maximum stay of 30 days. It can be obtained at the port of entry or online.
Zimbabwe visa requirements
The general requirements for a Zimbabwe visa are:
- A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity and two blank pages
- A completed and signed visa application form
- A recent passport-size photo
- A copy of your flight itinerary or return ticket
- A proof of sufficient funds to cover your expenses in Zimbabwe
- A proof of accommodation or invitation letter from your host in Zimbabwe
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate if you are traveling from or transiting through a yellow fever endemic country
Depending on the type and category of your visa, you may also need to provide additional documents, such as:
- A letter from your employer or business partner in Zimbabwe stating the purpose and duration of your visit
- A letter from your bank or financial institution confirming your account balance and transactions
- A police clearance certificate or criminal record check from your country of residence
- A medical certificate or health insurance policy
- A birth certificate or consent letter for minors traveling alone or with one parent
How to apply for Zimbabwe visa?
There are two ways to apply for Zimbabwe visa: online or offline.
Online application
You can apply for a Zimbabwe visa online through the official e-Visa Zimbabwe website. The following steps are involved in the online application process:
- Step#1: Register an account on the website and fill in the online application form
- Step#2: Upload the required documents and pay the visa fee using a credit or debit card
- Step#3: Receive a confirmation email and wait for your visa approval
- Step#4: Download and print your visa letter and present it at the port of entry
The online application process can take up to 7 days to be processed and approved. Visa applications must be submitted at least 15 days in advance of the planned trip date.
Offline application
You can also apply for a Zimbabwe visa offline through a Zimbabwean embassy or consulate in your country or a neighboring country. This option is available for all visa types. The following steps are included in the offline application process:
- Step#1: Contact the nearest Zimbabwean diplomatic mission and obtain the visa application form and the list of required documents
- Step#2: Send in or deliver the filled-out application form along with the necessary paperwork
- Step#3: Pay the visa fee using cash, cheque, or money order
- Step#4: Receive your visa sticker and collect your passport
The offline application process can take up to 14 days to be processed and issued. You should apply for your visa at least 30 days before your intended date of travel.
Zimbabwe visa fees
The cost of applying for a Zimbabwean visa depends on the type of visa and the country of application:
- Single entry visa: This visa fee is USD 30 for most category B countries and USD 60 for category C countries
- Double entry visa: This visa fee is USD 45 for most category B countries and USD 90 for category C countries
- Multiple entry visa: This visa fee is USD 55 for most category B countries and USD 110 for category C countries
- Transit visa: This visa fee is USD 15 for most category B countries and USD 30 for category C countries
- Business visa: This visa fee is USD 55 for most category B countries and USD 110 for category C countries
- KAZA Univisa: This visa fee is USD 50 for eligible category B countries
